A Good Writer in Need of Help

On Thursday of last week, the teenage son of Dave Wolverton (Dave writes popular fantasies under the pen name of David Farland) was critically injured in a longboard accident. Ben and his family were life-flighted to Las Vegas where Ben has since been in a medically-induced coma. He had multiple brain surgeries to attempt to control the swelling in his brain and other very serious injuries.

Dave is an established author who has done a lot to help and mentor other authors. Because of his own health history, he was apparently unable to carry health insurance for his family (an issue I'm not going to go into). The bills for Ben's medical care is likely to run into the millions.
